Kirkwood has sponsored Scout Troop 1140 for many years.

The troop:

  • Is part of the Old Dominion District in the National Capital Area Council
  • Has produced over 100 Eagle Scouts to date
  • Is a boy-led troop specializing in backpacking
  • Meets weekly, on Wednesday nights, at Kirkwood and participates in an outing at least once a month
  • Offers a Venture program for older scouts

Kirkwood has sponsored Venturing Crew 3200 since 2010.

They:

  • Are part of the Old Dominion District in the National Capital Area Council
  • Are an all-girl crew
  • Meet at least monthly, working around the girls' high school commitments
